Painting stripes can be a big enough challenge, but chevrons? You know, the zig-zag stripes. They are popular right now and, Irsquo;ll admit, they do add some pop to a room. So how would you go about painting them? While you ponder that, let me share a few methods that bloggers have used. (Yes, I lsquo;blog-gledrsquo; chevron stripes.) Room by Room Lisa at Room by Room devised her own method and template to paint chevron stripes on a serving tray. Very clever and I love the turquoise and bright green she chose for paint colors. Bon Temps Beignet Liz at Bon Temps Beignet is a girl after my own heart. She painted this darling box with chevron stripes, but that was her 2nd effort.nbsp; Her first was quatrefoil which didnrsquo;t work out. But she shared it anyway ndash; which I just love. Makes me feel like Irsquo;m not alone with all my do-overs. Herersquo;s what I thought was so ingenious ndash; she made her stencil for the quatrefoil with clear tape! I love that! If I ever wanted to try stenciling again ndash; donrsquo;t hold your breath ndash; Irsquo;d definitely grab some tape and give it a go. Head on over to Bon Temps Beignet to see how she painted perfect chevron stripes on her thrift store box. nbsp; Apartment Therapy Sarah Raersquo;s post title at Apartment Therapy, ldquo; How To Make Perfect Chevron Stripes Every Timerdquo;, got my attention. The fact that she painted a big olrsquo; rug did too. If yoursquo;re thinking about painting a large project like a rug, or a wall, yoursquo;ve got to read Sarahrsquo;s post. She brings up some points I know I never wouldrsquo;ve thought of. Oh,
UGG shop, and by the way,
www.uggbootssale-ie.net, she used spray paint on the rug. Get that! So there are 3 different ways to paint chevron stripes. Seems like someone should invent a tool or gadget or something,
ugg boots on sale, right? Well, someone did and they sent me one to try out! Irsquo;ve just been so dang busy with other projects I havenrsquo;t had a chance to break it out yet. Itrsquo;s next on my agenda though and Irsquo;m so excited to try it out. Do you have a paint project you'd like to have featured on Mural Maker amp; More? I'd love to share your creativity here. Just email me at MuralMaker1gmail.com and let me know!

While Irsquo;m debating what to create with my new paints by Martha and Plaid I thought Irsquo;d share a tutorial for how to paint grapes and grape leaves. Because guess what? Fall is right around the corner! Not that grapes are only for Fall. At least, not in my book. To me, theyrsquo;re timeless, great deacute;cor for any time of the year. A lot of people think painting grapes and grape leaves is difficult but it doesnrsquo;t have to be. Theyrsquo;re just a bunch of circles or ovals. I wrote the step-by-step instructions on each photo for those of you who donrsquo;t read all of my dribble, ok? For anyone else, you can use this painting tutorial with any color, really. Purple,
UGG Pas Cher Australia, red,
manteaux moncler, blue, even green. Yoursquo;ll also need White for highlighting and a darker shade of your basecoat for shading. Or brown. Pretty simple, right?
Transfer the pattern
Basecoat the cluster
Highlight with semi-circles
Topcoat with original basecoat
And voila ndash; grapes. But you really need some leaves too, donrsquo;t you think? Irsquo;ll be honest, painting grape leaves used to puzzle me. They always wound up looking like ivy leaves. Until my lsquo;patron saintsrsquo; gave me actual grape leaves from their vineyard to reference for their wine room mural. Now theyrsquo;re easy-peasy. You can just print my template if you want, but if you read the steps, you can make any size grape leaf in any direction. And while I think about it, you can also use these templates for things other than painting. Patterns for fabric cut-outs, maybe. Add some fusible web to the leaf cut-out and your can iron them on to just about anything. Tablecloth, napkins, table runner, aprons, totebags, to name a few. And if you do one of those projects, can you let me know? I always have big plans to do it but just wind up painting more tutorials. Oh. Are we done drawing leaves? Letrsquo;s paint! Two colors, folks! Green amp; Yellow, thatrsquo;s it. Use any green and any yellow you want. You know, you could add some shading too, in a darker green, if you wanted. Itrsquo;s up to you. Done! How to paint grapes amp; grape leaves. Consider this my first Fall painting tutorial. Which implies there will be more. Which will happen if all goes well in my life. Huh. Thatrsquo;ll be a first. Nah, just kidding {not really}. But if everything goes according to plan Irsquo;ll post a weekly Fall painting tutorial AND start Santarsquo;s Workshop in September. Santarsquo;s Workshop will be everything from painted gift ideas to painted home deacute;cor. Simple stuff, trust me. And if everything goes really, really well, I might even do some blog buttons for Fall, Halloween amp; Santarsquo;s Workshop. I just might be pushing my luck with that one.
